Where my time goes
This is the project that consumes most of my time and energy outside of course related work.
I began as Outreach & Safety Lead for the 2019-2020 academic year, overseeing both the society’s STEM outreach projects as well as health and safety for all projects. I also am part of the Chimera team, which is currently developing a hybrid rocket engine, with success.
In the 2020-2021 academic year I will be moving into the vice-chair position, and hope to use this to drive the society forward to further both our engineering projects as well as increase our outreach efforts.
More recently I have been volunteering with the Robogals project, which is an international organisation that aims to get more young people into STEM careers, with a focus on achieving gender equity in the sector.
For me this involves helping to run a robotics workshop at a local secondary school, using Lego Mindstorms to begin teaching the fundamentals of programming and engineering to students.
